Melissa and Justin Colby are no strangers to Modern Shelving. They first installed Modern Shelving shelves in their home a couple of years ago for a sitting area and loved the results. Recently, they were looking to take their home office to the next level, so they turned to Modern Shelving once again.
“We loved the whole process from conception, to design, to execution,” says Melissa of their first experience with Modern Shelving. “We knew that the [Modern Shelving] designer was going to show us a killer rendition so we’d know just how the finished product would look.”
The Colbys were in the market for a set of shelves for their home office on which they planned to house their vinyl collection. Justin spearheaded the ordering process and loved that he could talk with a designer to put together a plan. Modern Shelving informed the Colbys of everything they would need for the install so that there were no surprises once the shelves arrived.
When the shelves arrived, the Colbys assembled everything themselves. They’d built their fair share of IKEA furniture and found that these shelves were much easier. Their shelves were up in no time.
Melissa and Justin work from home, so it’s important to them to have an office that is conducive to creating important work. They also use their office for scrabble and whiskey dates and enjoy having all their vinyl in one, easy to reach place.
“The office is home to hundreds of records, a fair amount of books, and countless silly knickknacks,” says Melissa. “We love how everything turned out. I get compliments all the time when on video calls – it’s just the best backdrop!”
